Trans Borneo – The Last Frontier is a road adventure covering the Malaysian states of Sabah & Sarawak through North Kalimantan in Borneo Island.

It starts from Sabah, Malaysia, crossing into Kalimantan Utara and Kalimantan Timur before moving westwards across one of the last frontiers in Borneo, from Malinau to Ba’kelalan in Sarawak. The route cuts through the very heart of Borneo and is the last frontier.

To strengthen and foster closer relationship between the peoples of Malaysia & Indonesia

to promote travel and tourism in Borneo. For Indonesia, especially to promote potential culture, adventure and nature tourism, in Kalimantan to an international audience

To introduce, pave and open the way of travel between Sabah & Sarawak, Malaysia and North Kalimantan

To strengthen relationship among BIMP-EAGA (Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines – East Asean Growth Area) members

Celebrating Indonesia’s Independence Day in Tanjung Selor, capital city of Kalimantan Utara located in Kabupaten Bulungan

  • Limited to 25-30 cars with approximately 100 participants from Indonesia, Malaysia & Brunei
  • Registration will be open on 2018




A media conference will be held in June/July in Jakarta (and Sabah) to announce the expedition inviting approximately 10 national and international media
